Ravalican Katalan Rongmei Clears UPSC CAPF Exam, Appointed Assistant Commandant

Imphal, 14 June, 2025 — In a proud moment for Ravalico College Hostel and the entire Salesian educational community, Katalanpou Rongmei, son of Champoudai Rongmei, has successfully cleared the UPSC Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2024 and has been appointed as an Assistant Commandant.

Originally hailing from Thanagong Village in Khoupum, and currently residing at Lungchum, Awangkhul, Manipur, Katalan’s journey is a testament to perseverance, discipline, and purposeful preparation. After completing his Bachelor of Arts from Shillong, he joined Ravalico College Hostel in the academic year 2022–2023 to dedicate himself wholeheartedly to preparing for competitive examinations.

During his time at Ravalico, Katalan was known for his commitment to studies, quiet determination, and leadership qualities. His success brings immense joy and pride to the Salesian community, which fondly remembers his contributions as a Ravalican.

The Thanagong Students’ Union (TSU) also issued a heartfelt congratulatory note celebrating his achievement, recalling his early education in Thanagong and acknowledging how the village takes pride in shaping a son who is now set to serve the nation with honour and integrity.

Katalan’s success serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many young aspirants across the region who dream of serving the country through the civil and armed services.
