Inspiring Session on Religious Vocation Held at Ravalico College Hostel

Imphal 30 April 2026: As part of the ongoing Don Bosco Holiday Makers Programme 2026, an enriching and thought-provoking session titled “Courage to Commit: The Beauty of Religious Life” was organized at Ravalico College Hostel on 30 April 2026 at 5:00 PM. The session was animated by Sr. Monica MSMHC, who shared valuable insights on the meaning and significance of vocation and commitment in today’s rapidly changing world.

The programme drew the enthusiastic participation of students and young people, creating an atmosphere of reflection, inspiration, and meaningful interaction. Through her engaging talk, Sr. Monica encouraged the participants to look deeper into the purpose of life and the importance of making responsible and committed choices.

Beginning her session, Sr. Monica explained the meaning of the word vocation, which comes from the Latin word vocare, meaning “to call.” She emphasized that every person is called by God to a unique mission in life and that vocation is not limited only to priesthood or religious life but includes every path through which a person serves God and society.

She further elaborated on the different types of vocations, highlighting that all vocations are equally valuable and meaningful. Whether one is called to religious life, priesthood, marriage, or dedicated service in society, each vocation has its own dignity and purpose. Her message helped the students understand that true fulfillment comes from discovering and faithfully living one’s calling.

Addressing the challenges faced by young people today, Sr. Monica stressed the need for determination, responsibility, and clarity in choosing the right vocation. She reminded the participants that modern society often promotes temporary trends and unstable commitments, making it difficult for many to remain faithful to their life choices. In such circumstances, she encouraged the youth to cultivate inner conviction and steadfastness.

A significant part of her message focused on the virtues of perseverance, commitment, and loyalty. She noted that in a world where unfaithfulness and inconsistency are becoming increasingly common, remaining faithful to one’s commitments is both admirable and courageous. She called upon the students to develop strong values and to remain rooted in faith, discipline, and sincerity.

The session deeply inspired the participants and provided them with an opportunity to reflect seriously on their future and personal responsibilities. The meaningful interaction and practical examples shared by Sr. Monica made the programme both enlightening and motivating.

The programme concluded with words of gratitude to Sr. Monica MSMHC for her inspiring presence and valuable guidance. The session successfully conveyed the message that true joy and fulfillment in life come through courage, commitment, and faithful dedication to one’s vocation.
