First Holy Mass of Fr. Ts. Albert Monsang at Ravalico College Hostel
Imphal, 13 February 2026: The hostel community of Ravalico College Hostel was blessed to host the First Holy Mass of Fr. Ts. Albert Monsang, newly ordained priest of the Itanagar Diocese, on Friday, 13 February 2026. The Eucharistic celebration began at 6:00 p.m. in an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and prayer.
Fr. Benny James SDB, Director of the Hostel, warmly welcomed the newly ordained priest before the Mass. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Albert for graciously accepting the invitation to celebrate the Eucharist with the hostel community and assured him of continued prayers as he begins his priestly ministry.
The introduction to the Holy Mass was delivered by Themreimgung, highlighting the grace-filled ordination of Fr. Albert on 1 February 2026 at Monsangpantha and recalling the profound words of Mamma Margaret to Don Bosco: “To begin to say Mass is to suffer.” The introduction emphasized the beauty and responsibility of the priestly vocation and requested the celebrant to remember the students—especially those preparing for examinations—in his prayers .
In his homily, Fr. Albert reflected on the gift and responsibility of the priesthood. He spoke about the Eucharist as the heart of a priest’s life and mission, calling everyone to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer, sacrifice, and faithful commitment to daily duties. Addressing the students in particular, he encouraged them to remain focused on their goals, to trust in God’s providence, and to build their future on strong moral and spiritual foundations. He reminded them that true success lies not only in achievements but in fidelity to God’s call in everyday life.
The celebration concluded with a brief felicitation programme in honour of the new priest. Members of the hostel community extended their congratulations and prayerful wishes for a fruitful ministry. A solemn supper was organized thereafter, fostering fraternity and joyful interaction.
